ENERGY & ENVIRONMENTAL AUDITS
A full energy health check for your business to help you meet legislation, reduce carbon emissions and become more sustainable
Sustainability Reports
*Grant funding may be available
An Energy and Environmental Audit will enable us to produce a Sustainability Report which includes an overview of carbon producing activities relating to your business, including Energy, Water, Waste and Transport. We will look at your current consumption and practices and identify ways for you to increase efficiency and reduce your carbon footprint whilst actually saving on costs and having more money to spend elsewhere in the business.
We will deliver a full report to you following, site survey, highlighting each area, specific actions and recommendations, showing the cost and savings of measures so you can clearly work out your ROI in addition to the reduction in your carbon footprint.
A sustainability report can help inform a robust sustainability policy for your business, meet carbon reduction objectives, save money and comply with legislation.
Energy Performance Certificates
Almost 40% of the UKs energy consumption and carbon emissions come from the way our buildings are insulated, heated, lit and used. An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a report which shows how energy efficient your building is. It gives you an Asset Rating from A-G (A being the most efficient). An EPC survey involves looking at all aspects of your building from fabric, insulation, glazing and HVAC through to lighting. You will also receive a report highlighting the impact of implementing the recommended measures on your energy efficiency and Asset Rating. An EPC (E or above) is required for the sale or lease of your property and will be valid for 10 years. An EPC certificate must be displayed if your building is over 500m2 and frequently visited by the public (see FAQs for exemptions). The fine can be up to £5000 for failing to have a valid EPC if required.
New Build Commercial EPCs
To comply with building regulations, it is necessary to have an EPC for a new building, this can mostly be done off plan using architect drawings, schematics and SBEM software. A level 4 Energy Assessor is required and the work involved is greater than for a standard EPC, as there may be a number of discussions required during the process. If you have insulation, glazing, lighting and HVAC that you plan to use for your project, we can base the Asset rating on this and also recommend alternatives which would increase your Asset rating, improve energy efficiency, reducing carbon output and cost, and potentially increase the value of your building or project.
